J1 Participants

UNICOLL Placement Services is a recruitment agency placing students in the best jobs possible in the US. Our agency is in partnership with several US Sponsor Organizations including the Wise Foundation- Worldwide International Student Exchange- . All of our US Sponsor Organizations supply each student with documents needed to be approved for a Visa at the US Consulate (Embassy).  They also provide you with Insurance while in the US should anything go wrong.


Who is Eligible?

All Applicants must :

  • Be between the ages of 18 – 28 years old
  • Be currently enrolled as a full- time student at a tertiary Institution
  • Not be in the process of being filed for by an US Immigrant
  • Have a clean record on previous Visa (where applicable)
  • Have a valid passport with at least one (1) year before expiring
  • Be able to support themselves upon arrival in the United States for at least two weeks

Total Fee :

  • Registration Fee - $3,000.00 (all fees are in Jamaican currency)
  • Program Fee - $48,000.00
  • Total $51,000.00

NB. Fee does not include airfare or the Visa voucher.

 


Registration

Registration Ends : January 20, 2008 - There is a 30-day grace period for late registration. This attracts a fee of $3,000.00

 


After Registering

  • Upon registration participants must submit their most recent resume (preferably typed) along with a passport-sized photograph and at least 3 job preferences from the given list.
  • All males participants are subject to a drug test and must get a Police Record screening before their scheduled Consulate appointment.
  • Follow - up meetings will be held with participants at dates soon to be announced
  • Participants are asked to keep in touch by phone and email.

  • All students must purchase their visa voucher at the nearest post Office or Pay Master outlet. As of January December 2007 the cost for consulate appointment voucher is US$131.00.
  • Three forms are to be completed (DS 156, DS157, DS 158) by all J1 participants as shown on the US Consulate Webpage, by March 30th.

  • A pre Departure Orientation will be held at the Edna Manley College in April through to May and all participants must be present at at least one of these meetings.

 


Weekly Update

a) All students please submit all outstanding documents by January 20.

b) Submission checklist

  1. Electronic resume and picture
  2. Wise form-signed and dated with passport size picture
  3. Job list with job choice indications must be sent to the email address given as instructed upon registration.
